December 10, 2010 (Torrance, CA) – Condumex reports on their successful Microm Electronica project at Plaza Carso. The LEDs were supplied by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. OSRAM is represented by Everest Sales & Solutions in Mexico.

Microm Electronics-Group company, recently installed 8,000 Condumex LED lights (light emitting diodes) Myriad in the parking lot of Plaza Carso, which is the largest in Latin America, with six underground levels with an area of 250,000 square meters. In total, the number of high-density LED luminaires content amounted to about 320,000. Read the whole story here.

August 3, 2010 (Torrance, CA) – Seiko Instruments has developed the S-1142 Series high-withstand voltage CMOS process positive voltage regulator that has a low current consumption and a high output voltage accuracy. Operating at a high maximum voltage of 50V and a low current consumption of 4.0µA (Typ.), the S-1142 has a built-in low on-resistance transistor providing a very small dropout voltage and a large current. In addition, the S-1142 in a HSOP-6 package has a built-in power-off circuit.

July 30, 2010 (Torrance, CA) – Seiko Instruments has developed the S-1172 Series positive voltage regulator integrating a super low dropout voltage, a high output voltage accuracy, and a low current consumption. The super low dropout voltage and the high output current can be attributed to the built-in transistor with low on-resistance.

The over-current protector prevents the load current from exceeding the capacitance of the output transistor while the thermal shutdown circuit prevents damage caused by heat. The rush current control circuit limits the excessive rush current during start-up. Various capacitors and small ceramic capacitors can be used for this IC more than for conventional regulator ICs that have CMOS technology. Additionally, the ON/OFF circuit ensures longer battery life.
High-density mounting can be achieved using a small SOT-89-5 package and high-heat radiation HSOP-6 package.
